This Place Shaping Framework outlines a series of draft proposals for the future of inner Adelaide and is the culmination of hundreds of conversations and over 170,000 online interactions with 700 participants at six forums.
A vision for an authentic, inclusive and innovative Adelaide
The 5000+ Vision and Guiding Principles are a guide and a reference tool for the future. They reflect the aspirations of the thousands who have participated in conversations throughout the 5000+ project. The Guiding Principles are specific to our city, its people, places, and the processes that shape it.

Great Ideas for a Great City
Through an intensive process, 5000+ has demonstrated a model of engagement that can serve as a tool for countless projects. This report offers an account of the thousands of conversations, and how we designed and managed that process.
The Kent Town Project was a pilot project aimed to map the creative industries in the precinct, as part of the Norwood Payneham & St Peter’s Thinking through the City Strategy. It is a collaborative project between the Council and the Integrated Design Commission SA with additional support provided by Arts SA.

Three design teams, NEH Architects, HASSELL and University of South Australia Master of Architecture graduates were commissioned to focus on imagining a new urban form for Adelaide’s Inner-Rim. The Laneway Dwellings and How can we live well on arterials? projects rethink the purpose and amenity of our roadways – how might roadways provide better service to the community as well as servicing vehicles?
